Mirrors Edge Review

In the game mirrors edge you are controlling a woman named fath, in a first person perspective you are challenged to go across the city by running across walls, jumping from rooftop to rooftop, and get inside a building using the air vents.

The movements of the game was based on parkour  where you try to navigate various obstacles. Her main objective is to deliver messages around the city.

"But that’s the first thing to make clear: Mirror’s Edge really works. It actually feels like you’re running – or jumping, or shimmying, or skidding. This game’s closest relations, in terms of ideas, are probably Prince of Persia and Tomb Raider, both of which give you an easy time keeping in touch with the position of your character because you can always see them. The crucial thing with Mirror’s Edge’s leap from third to first person is that you maintain that sense of which bits of you are where, thanks to the motion of the screen and the way arms and legs occasionally cross your vision – and therefore you know what to do with them next."

Metacritic 81/100    GameRankings: 80.23%    1UP.com: A-   IGN: 8.5/10    Game Informer: 8/10

F.E.A.R. 3 Review

F.E.A.R. 3 is a first-person shooter with horror. Its a game that appeals to horror and shooter fans alike.

The game has 2 kinds of game play campaign, and multiplayer. The campaign is split into 8 intervals (sections). Multiplayer has 4 different game modes you can play. The game modes are "Fucking Run" "Contractions" "Soul Survivor" and "Soul King". "Fucking Run" it has a maximum of 6 players where you are killing wave after wave of enemies. You start off in the safe room where you have to kill enemies in a certain amount of time, there is 7 safe rooms through the game mode. "Contractions" is a round based survival game mode where you need to barricade enemies and stock up on weapons.

It has 20 waves of enemies from the F.E.A.R. 3 this game mode is similar to Call of Duty's Nazi Zombies. "Soul Survivor" has 4 players verse each other with one player as a "Spectre" where he/she has to possess enemies to kill the other 3 players so they can become spectres before the time runs out. "Soul King" is like Soul survivor but all the players are spectre and each player needs to possess enemies to kill each other and collect souls.

If you haven't played F.E.A.R. 1 & 2 then you will not understand parts of the story line, like why you are here and "whats a F.E.A.R agent?". But thats ok, its still one of the best games that you ever played.

Overall its a good mix of shooting and horror, they have mastered the mixture.
